BICS is the support scheme that removes certain non-energy charges from your electricity bill. For eligible sites, this can mean a saving of around 4p/kWh. In the first year (2026-27), the relief is given as a rebate; from then on, the charges are simply removed from your bill — so qualifying sites pay less each month.

Who qualifies

The list of specific eligible Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes is fairly broad, but generally eligible frontier industries include sectors within advanced manufacturing, clean energy industries, defence, digital and technologies, and life sciences. Eligible foundational industries include chemicals, composites, critical minerals, materials, steel, and manufacturing components for electricity networks.
